Woman Committed for 40 Years for Attempted Murder of Mother in West Hartford

Gail Litsky was found not guilty by reason of insanity last year during a trial.

A woman has been committed for 40 years after she was found not guilty by reason of insanity after she attempted to kill her 70-year-old mother.

Gail Litsky, 47, was found not guilty after a one-day trial last year, according to the Hartford Courant. She attempted to kill her mother for three hours in February 2014.

Litsky will be committed to Whiting Forensic Division of the Connecticut Valley Hospital.

She reportedly tried to kill her mother in more than six different ways.
