Woman Rescued From Ice In West Hartford: Report

Firefighters rescued a woman who had fallen on the ice at a pond in West Hartford on Thursday afternoon.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Firefighters rescued a woman from the ice on Wood Pond Thursday afternoon in West Hartford, according to We-Ha.com.

We-Ha reports the woman had fallen on, not into, the ice and sustained injuries to her leg that were extremely painful but not life-threatening.

Firefighters used a stokes basket, and extra precautions, to extricate the woman from the ice as cracking sounds could be heard while the rescue was taking place, according to We-Ha.
