The suspect, later identified as Gloria Drummer, appeared to have waited for the victim to exit and then stabbed her in the head several times with a large knife, Stoneburner said.
The victim fell to the ground and was assisted by her boyfriend and CVS employees. The suspect then walked across the street and sat at a bus stop where she was ultimately taken into custody.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect inside the store mumbling to herself prior to the incident. The suspect appeared to be emotionally disturbed, according to Stoneburner, who said the attack was random.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries to her head and later released from the hospital.
Drummer, of West Hartford, was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace.
After being processed she was taken to UCONN hospital for evaluation.
Drummer was released from the hospital and arraigned in court this morning, Stoneburner said.
