Arrest Made In Crash That Killed West Haven Teen, Pregnant Woman
A man was arrested on manslaughter and illegal racing charges after a crash killed two people, including a pregnant woman.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A 19-year-old Hamden man has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash in Shelton that killed a West Haven teen and a pregnant woman in April. The crash in the area of 661 River Road on April 8 where police say racing was taking place.
A Mini Cooper crashed into a Saturn and a third non-contact vehicle was involved in the crash. Briana Torres-Carter, 23, of Bridgeport and Shalymar Herrera, 18, of West Haven were killed in the crash. Torres-Carter was pregnant. Both were passengers in the Mini Cooper.
Lawrence Carter, 19, who was operating the Mini Cooper was also injured critically in the crash. Another person sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Three people in the Saturn were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Abdulaziz Yuldoshev, 19, of Hamden, was charged with two counts of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of negligent homicide, four counts of first-degree assault and illegal racing on a highway. He posted a $50,000 bond.
