Arrest Made In Fatal Motorcycle Crash: West Haven Police

WEST HAVEN, CT — An East Haven man has been charged in connection to a fatal motorcycle accident that killed a West Haven man in April. The collision occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on April 27 at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Lamson Street. Jose Rodriguez was struck by a motor vehicle while operating his motorcycle and later died from his injuries.

The West Haven Police Major Accident Unit completed the investigation and after reviewing video evidence, witness statements and scene evidence, it was determined that the operator of the motor vehicle was as fault for the collision, according to police. An arrest warrant was applied for and granted by Milford Superior Court.

Frank Zachey, 67, of East Haven, was arrested July 11 and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to grant right of way.
