CT Gators Donate 500 Books To West Haven Schools

More than 500 books were donated by the families and players of the CT Gators.

WEST HAVEN, CT — The holidays came a bit early to Carrigan Intermediate School as they welcomed more than 500 books collected by the Core Training Academy of Orange. The books were donated by the families and players of the CT Gators.

The Gators baseball and softball players collected the books this fall and the members of the Gator leadership program sorted the books into age appropriate reading and grade levels prior to delivery. The books will bolster reading programs at Carrigan Intermediate School (grades 5 and 6) and certainly the six elementary schools of West Haven.

The CORE Training Academy strives to provide athletic, academic, and leadership opportunities in a community based model. The Gators are also currently assisting the West Haven Board of Education with their winter weather clothing drive.
