WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): John Lorenzo Jr., 49, of Hamden, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2020. He was born in New Haven, son of the late John Sr. and JoAnn Gorry Lorenzo. John is survived by his sister, Michelle Caprio and his nieces Michaela Marie Caprio and Chloe Rose Caprio all of West Haven, his aunt Gloria Lorenzo of Branford and his cousin Pamela Lorenzo of Branford. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Joan and Jack Gorry of CA and as well as his longtime family friends Laurie Cimino (Jeff) Parmenter and Joe Cimino.

John was a security officer for Yale New Haven Hospital Protective Services. John loved football, he was a season ticket holder for the New England Patriots. He was a former assistant coach for The Knights semi-pro football team that won several championships. He seemed to have coached just about everywhere. He attended Walter Camp events and was active with Babe Ruth Baseball.

Family was everything to John, and one of the biggest joys of his life was being an Uncle to his beloved nieces, Michaela & Chloe. He was so very proud of the beautiful women that they have grown to be, and will always be watching over them with love.
