Parents Arrested In Connection To Hot Car Death: West Haven PD
A 4-year-old boy died and his 2-year-old brother was hospitalized after they were found in a hot car in West Haven this past July.
WEST HAVEN, CT — The parents of a 4-year-old boy who died after being found in a hot car with his 2-year-old brother this past July have been arrested, West Haven Police announced on Wednesday. Police responded to a home on Treat Street in West Haven at about 3 p.m. on July 19 after receiving a 911 call from the boys’ father.
Dusan Jenkins, 4, was identified as the victim of the incident and his 2-year-old brother Davion Jenkins was hospitalized.
The boys’ parents — Dusan Jenkins and Latoya Walters — turned themselves in on Wednesday afternoon after being notified of active arrest warrants, according to police.

Jenkins, 34, was charged with criminally negligent homicide, second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.

They were both held on bond, according to police.
