Crews Respond To Structure Fire In West Haven (patch.com) — Fire crews from all three West Haven fire districts responded to a structure fire on Canton Street in the Allingtown neighborhood, prompting officials to urge drivers to avoid the area. The blaze was brought under control shortly after noon, but motorists were still advised to steer clear as responders continued working at the scene.
   

2. 'Stylish Cape' Home Hits The Market In West Haven (patch.com) — A Grove Place home in West Haven's beach community is on the market for $439,900, offering more than 1,700 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The updated Cape-style house features a remodeled kitchen, generous dining room, and spacious family room, along with coastal views and breezes that highlight its local shoreline setting.
   

3. E-vehicles subject of new city ordinance (westhavenvoice.com) — West Haven officials are proposing a new ordinance to slow e-bikes and e-scooters on city sidewalks to 10 mph and largely ban motorized riding on the shoreline boardwalk. The measure would empower police to issue $100 fines and confiscate vehicles for violations, aiming to keep popular paths from Sandy Point to Charlotte Bacon playground safer for pedestrians.
   

4. Americas oldest inmate dies aged 101 as his strange prison habit is revealed (pulptastic.com) — West Haven is briefly back in the spotlight because the 1950 robbery and killing of a night watchman there led to the life sentence of Francis Clifford Smith, who has now died at 101. The Connecticut inmate, long known for feeding birds with smuggled bread, spent more than 70 years behind bars and became a symbol of the challenges of caring for very elderly prisoners.
