Teen Accused Of Double Stabbing At House Party: West Haven Police

Police said one of the victim's sustained serious injuries during the assault, which occurred back in 2016.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A Stratford teen has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault for his role in house party assault that occurred in West Haven in 2016, police said.

On Tuesday, June 27 an outstanding arrest warrant for Skyler Crabtree, 18 of Homestead Avenue, Stratford, was served after he had turned himself in to the West Haven Police Department, police said.

On November 19, 2016, officers responded to 135 York Street on a report of a male who been stabbed three times in the chest during an altercation, which occurred at a house party, police said.

The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he remained in serious condition until his eventual release, police said. During the course of the investigation it was learned a second male had also been stabbed in his back, but he never sought medical attention, police said.

Police said Crabtree was uncooperative throughout the investigation. After a "lengthy and extensive investigation" resulting in several interviews, search warrants, surveillance footage and the collection of forensic evidence, an arrest warrant for Crabtree was applied for, police said.

West Haven Police Department was assisted by Connecticut State Police and Stratford Police Department as well as the Milford State’s Attorney’s Office, police said.

Crabtree is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and breach of peace. He was released on a $75, 000 bond.
