West Haven Rocks WHEAT Food Drive Collects 2,500 Pounds Of Food

The food drive collected more than 2,500 pounds of food and $2,500 to the West Haven Emergency Assistance Taskforce (WHEAT).

WEST HAVEN, CT — The "West Haven Rocks WHEAT" food drive collected more than 2,500 pounds of non-perishable food items and $2,500 in contributions on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The three-hour event was held at Off Shore Restaurant, 852 Jones Hill Rd., and benefitted the West Haven Emergency Assistance Taskforce (WHEAT).

Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2021, about 42 million Americans may not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
