Annual Community Bonfire At Emmanuel Episcopal Church In Weston

In support of the Weston Warm-Up Fund

Weston, CT— December 26, 2024 - Emmanuel Church is proud to announce the return of its long-standing tradition, the Annual Community Bonfire, set to take place on January 11, 2025, at 5 pm at the church grounds located at 285 Lyons Plain Road, Weston, CT. This festive community event provides a fun winter evening for residents and serves a crucial charitable purpose: raising funds for the Weston Warm-Up Fund, a local initiative designed to assist low-income Weston residents in covering the cost of heating their homes.

Each year, the community gathers to collect Christmas trees for the bonfire, with 100% of the proceeds from the event going directly to the Warm-Up Fund. Participants are invited to dispose of their Christmas trees meaningfully while helping neighbors in need. The Weston Volunteer Fire Department supervises the spectacular bonfire, doubling as a valuable training opportunity for new firefighter recruits.

Tree Collection & Drop-off Information: In preparation for the event, Emmanuel Church has begun coordinating Christmas tree collections. Residents can either take advantage of the pick-up service provided by dedicated volunteers or drop off their trees at the backfield of Emmanuel Church, 285 Lyons Plain Road.

A Warm Community Gathering: The Annual Community Bonfire is more than just a fundraiser—it is an opportunity for Weston residents to come together, enjoy the warmth of a large bonfire, and share in the festive spirit. Delicious food and treats donated by parishioners will be available, and attendees will have the chance to show their appreciation for Weston's volunteer firefighters, whose commitment to safety keeps the community protected year-round.
