Annual Meeting sets New leadership for Connecticut nonprofit
Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut Announces New Officers, Board Member

Bridgeport, Conn. (April 26, 2019) — Today, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut (GWNC) announced the naming of new Board officers and appointment of Christopher Runge as a new Board member.
As a member of GWNC’s volunteer board of directors, Mr. Runge — a Redding resident with extensive healthcare marketing experience — will support the nonprofit’s mission of helping people achieve independence and self-sufficiency through job training and support services. He joins a group of 11 existing Board members who provide critical leadership support to the organization.
In addition to welcoming Mr. Runge to the Board, GWNC is pleased to announce the slate of officers appointed during its recent Annual Meeting. They include:

· William J. Mallin, Chair;
· Suzanne Baldasare, Vice Chair;

· Sean Kane, Secretary; and,
· John Ostaszewski, Treasurer.
Per bylaws, President & CEO Vickie Volpano’s continued tenure was approved by the Board. Ms. Volpano also serves on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries International and as Chair of its Conference of Executives, the body of 161 sitting Goodwill CEO’s.
“Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut provides vital resources to residents seeking to improve their self-sufficiency,” Runge said. “I am excited to join the Board and to work alongside volunteers and staff to ensure the vitality and longevity of this organization.”

GWNC supports and empower tens of thousands of Connecticut residents each year, through employment opportunities, career coaching, residential support services, and additional programs for people with disabilities or disadvantages.
