Author Panel and Discussion at Weston Library, August 3

July 31, 2024 (WESTON, Conn.) — The Friends of the Weston presents “Weston Authors Talk Adventure” as part of their Adult Summer Reading programming, where Weston-based authors will talk about their genres and publishing journeys. There will be a panel discussion, followed by a Q&A and Meet & Greet. The event takes place on Saturday, August 3 at 2:00 p.m., is free and open to the public. Local authors featured on the panel include the following:
Trevor Crafts, author of The Unseen Photos of Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street — a companion photo book to his Emmy Award-winning documentary on the origins of Sesame Street. He’s also penned the Lantern City series and the children’s graphic novel, The Not-So Secret Society. Radiologist Heather Frimmer is the author of two novels, Bedside Manners and Better to Trust, where she draws on her experience to create stories involving health issues. She’s won accolades for her fiction via the National Indie Excellence and Independent Press awards. Lisa Grunwald is the author of seven novels, including The Evolution of Annabel Craig. This, her latest work, chronicles one woman’s journey through the infamous 1925 Scopes Trial. Ms. Grunwald has also edited several anthologies and written essays. Heather Pemberton began her writing career in print and broadcast journalism, and has written and edited content for over three decades. She’s hosted live-streamed interviews with authors and celebrities alike, and blogged Mommy Truths from 2006-2011. Hidden Below is a suspense thriller about the flooding of Weston’s Valley Forge area and is her first novel. Aline Weiller is an essayist, publicist, and stand-up comedian. A nine-time Connecticut Press Club award-winner, her essays have been published nationally, chosen for dramatic reading, and tweeted by The New York Times. Weiller’s 2024 collection, FUN: Essays on a Life Embraced, is her debut book.

The Author Talk takes place in the Weston Public Library’s Community Room at 2:00 p.m., this Saturday, August 3. It promises to be an exciting afternoon for book enthusiasts and beyond, while reflecting the theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
