Easton Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Trying to Hang Wife
The man received an additional sentence of eight years special parole.

An Easton man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to hang his wife, the Connecticut Post reports.
According to the paper, Cory Dawid, 42, tried to hang his wife in March 2014 and his teenage son witnessing the incident called 911. When police arrived, Dawid admitted he tried to hang his wife in the family’s garage.
Dawid pleaded no contest to attempted murder and first-degree strangulation.

In addition to the sentence, Dawid was sentenced to eight years of special parole and had a permanent criminal order imposed on him forbidding him to have any contact with his wife or children, the paper reports.
At his sentencing, Dawid showed no remorse and said his wife was trying to make him look worse than he was.
