Ed Nusbaum and Thom Parrino Named 2015 Connecticut Super Lawyers
Weston resident, Ed Nusbaum, and his law partner, Thom Parrino, have been selected to the 2015 Connecticut Super Lawyers list.
WESTPORT, Conn., Nov. 17, 2015 -- Edward Nusbaum and Thomas Parrino, co-founders and principals of Westport-based family law firm Nusbaum & Parrino P.C., have been selected to the 2015 Connecticut Super Lawyers list. No more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers.
Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
In addition, Nusbaum is a fellow and past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and past chair of the Bench & Bar Committee of the AAML National. He is also a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the leading organization of family law practitioners.

Parrino is a fellow and past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He chaired the Connecticut Chapter’s Examining Committee. He also serves as a member of Connecticut’s Family Law Commission, which is composed of Connecticut Superior Court Judges and select Connecticut attorneys who have been invited to serve as members. Parrino also serves as a delegate to the National Board of Governors of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, in which he previously served as chair of the National Admissions Committee. Additionally, Parrino is a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Earlier this year the Connecticut Law Tribune, the state’s only weekly newspaper devoted to covering the legal community, announced Nusbaum & Parrino P.C. won its annual Litigation Departments of the Year award for family law.

In 2013, Nusbaum and Parrino became international authors by co-authoring a chapter in a book titled, “Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons,” Second Edition 2013, published by European Lawyer/Thomson Reuters. Nusbaum and Parrino wrote about Connecticut family law covering many of the typical subjects including pre- and post-nuptial agreements, finances/capital, property, child maintenance, surrogacy and adoption, financial relief after foreign divorce proceedings, and civil partnership/same-sex marriage, among others.
