Escape into a Dream(y) Spa Experience

Spas may typically be associated with luxury and pampering, but with , located in Westport, Corporate Director Lori Dodd had a more holistic purpose in mind.

“My goal was to create a wellness environment,” she said of Dream, which celebrates its 11^th anniversary this August. “Relieving your stress is important to your wellness. We want to be part of that.”

Located in a refurbished house at 1220 Post Road East, Dream offers all the beauty and relaxation services you can, ahem, dream of—manicures and pedicures, hair services, facials and body treatments, and massages as well as combined packages—in a peaceful, homey setting.

“We feel like environment is part of the experience,” explained Dodd, who wants clients’ first and last impressions to be of an intimate and calming experience. “We feel people appreciate coming into an environment that feels like a residence. You’re welcomed as a guest in our home.”

She hires only highly experienced staff, some of whom have been with Dream since it opened, who are “excellent communicators” and is especially proud of the “fabulous retention rates” among both staff and clients.

“We’ve been able to maintain incredible loyalty on both sides,” she said.

Formality is not mistaken for professionalism at Dream as Dodd strives to maintain a casual, friendly atmosphere. As in a home, the more social events (manicures, pedicures, hair) happen on the first floor while the second floor is reserved for the more private spa services. Both floors have sitting rooms dedicated to relaxing before or after treatments, and most massages include the use of a private steam shower.

“A very popular package is Dream Essentials,” Dodd noted, which includes a 30-minute Swedish massage, a mini-facial, and a manicure and is priced at $145.

Introduced more recently, the package provides an introduction to Dream’s services while also allowing customers a spa experience at a more affordable price. Additional packages are designed for those seeking more comprehensive services as well as for men and teens.

“We try to address the wellness of our community,” Dodd explained. “We welcome adults and mature teens.”
