Status of White Nose Syndrome in CT Bats

Christina Kocer of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will provide an update on the status of White Nose Syndrome in our CT bat colonies.  WNS is a disease that has been affecting hibernating bat species in the eastern part of the United States since its discovery in 2007.  Over 1 million bats have died as a result of WNS infection however the precise cause of death is still under investigation; the presence of the fungus G. destructans continues to be the common link between sites affected by the disease.  Fee: $10/member, $12/non-member.
