OSHA spokesperson Ted Fitzgerald told Patch that the agency has launched an investigation of the worker's employer, Dandelion Geothermal, based in Mount Kisco, NY. The company installs ground-based combination central cooling and heating systems, according to its website.
The inspection seeks to determine the workplace safety standards that would apply to this situation and whether the employer complied with those standards, according to Fitzgerald. OSHA has up to six months to complete an inspection.
