Kids from grades 3-6 can learn to program a video game using Scratch at the Weston Public Library.

Learn how to program your own video game using Scratch! Scratch is an easy-to-learn programming language that can be used to make games and animated videos. Kids from grades 3-6 are invited to learn how to program a simple game, as well as tips for making more complex ones. Kids who are already familiar with Scratch can also experiment with using Makey Makey to make unique controllers for their games! Space is limited. To register please email westonlibrary@westonct.gov. Kids will need to bring a laptop or tablet to participate.

The program will be held on January 12, at 4:00 PM.

Scratch was created by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab, and is available for free at https://scratch.mit.edu/. It includes an online community where creators can share projects and see the code that powers each project.
