Meadow Ridge Earns Highest Honors from U.S. News & World Report
Community awarded "Best" for CCRC, Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care

Redding, Conn. – Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Redding, Conn., has once again been named one of the best senior living communities in the country by U.S. News & World Report. It is the only community in the tri-state area to earn a “Best” designation in all four categories of the 2025 Best Senior Living issue—CCRC, independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
To determine what makes Meadow Ridge one of the “Best,” U.S. News & World Report analyzed surveys from residents and their family members. The community earned high marks for management & staff, activities & enrichment, caregiving, and food & dining—all of which, respondents said, help make Meadow Ridge feel like home. “Life at Meadow Ridge is beyond our expectations. The residents are intellectual, warm and friendly. This is a real community of active people,” commented one resident whose remarks were echoed throughout the survey responses.
Meadow Ridge offers a distinctive lifestyle with exquisite amenities and well-appointed apartment homes set amid a picturesque country setting. As a CCRC, residents have peace of mind that their needs will be met with compassion and quality at every stage of life, whether in independent living, assisted living, or memory care. Ridge Crest, Meadow Ridge’s skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, was also recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Nursing Homes issue for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

“While the entire team here at Meadow Ridge is dedicated to providing our residents with the best experience, I truly believe what sets us apart is the deep and meaningful connections residents have with each other and with our associates,” said Meadow Ridge Campus Executive Director Chris Barstein. “That genuine sense of caring comes through in every aspect of life here, from the food to the grounds to the activities and everything in between. We are humbled to be recognized with these awards.”
The 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living issue represents feedback on thousands of senior living communities across the country. Meadow Ridge, a Benchmark Senior Living CCRC, has repeatedly been recognized for excellence. Forty-eight Benchmark communities throughout the Northeast earned 66 awards this year.
