Details of good work done or being done

Elizabeth is an amazing mother of four and incredibly caring individual. Despite the time commitments and challenges of raising four Redding Elementary School and John Read Middle School students, Elizabeth has taken on an international challenge as well.

Why do you feel is this person an everyday hero?

Elizabeth is planning the Big Dinner CT, an event to raise awareness and funds for 500 Miles. Elizabeth’s friend, Olivia Giles, founded the organization in 2007, a few years after losing her limbs to meningococcal septicaemia. 500 Miles supplies prosthetic limbs to developing countries and Elizabeth’s goal is to raise $10,000 through her March 7th event to help the charity.

So, in her spare time, Elizabeth is busy planning the Big Dinner CT to be held at the Redding Country Club on March 7th. She’s doing everything herself - creating the menu, promoting the event, organizing the entertainment, soliciting donations for a door prize drawing. She’s amazing - thinking globally and acting locally!
