Nice Weather Brings Out the Speeders

Redding Police made more than 30 motor vehicle stops between April 9 and 16.


Whether you're planning on dusting off your sports car to give it a spin around town or in a rush to drop the kids off somewhere, police say you better obey the posted speed limit.

From April 9 through April 16, Redding Police have made at least 34 motor vehicle stops, many for speeding.

"The speeding does increase with the warmer weather," according to Lt. Mark O'Donnell of the Redding Police Department.

Enforcement action for speeding can range from a written warning to an infraction ticket, he said.

And O'Donnell's words of advice to drivers, "Pay attention to the speed limit signs."

He said obeying the speed limits is particularly important given the windy and hilly nature of many of the roads in the area.
