PD: Intoxicated Weston Man Crashes in Darien, Hides from Police
The man's wife allegedly came to try and pick him up from the scene.

A Weston man was arrested after he allegedly drove intoxicated and attempted to have his wife pick him up from an accident scene.
The single-vehicle accident occurred on June 15 on Mansfield Avenue and involved a vehicle and tree.
Officers responded and found no one in the vehicle, but did find a small amount of marijuana, police said. Nearby a woman driving a minivan told police she was lost. Officers spotted her vehicle again and questioned her. She admitted that she was there to pick up her husband, Donald Robinson, 56.

Police went back to the crash scene and found Robinson sitting near the vehicle. He claimed to be there the whole time, which police didn’t believe. He claimed he was in the back seat of the vehicle.
Robinson was transported to the hospital after complaining about shoulder pain. Police applied for and received an arrest warrant that charged him with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility, making an improper turn, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Westport Police took him into custody Nov. 15 after getting a report of a suspicious person at the train station. He allegedly fought with officers and received a laceration to his head. He was treated at Norwalk Hospital and handed over to Darien Police.
He was charged by Westport Police with interfering with police.
