The assailant became enraged when his then girlfriend, of Norwalk, tried to break up with him two years ago.

NORWALK, CT - Gary Bozzett, 59, was sentenced Friday to 11 years in prison in connection with the beating, strangling and raping of his then girlfriend two years ago in Norwalk.

Reporter John Nickerson of the Stamford Advocate writes that Bozzett, of Redding, became enraged when the Norwalk woman tried to break up with him in March 2014, and he attacked her at a location on Princeton Street.

In addition to the prison sentence, Bozzett also was sentenced to probation for 25 years, and had a criminal restraining order placed on him for 35 years, meaning he cannot contact the victim.
