Redding Names Interim Chief of Police

REDDING, CT -- Police Captain Mark O'Donnell has been named interim Redding Police Chief, effective immediately.

The move comes after a special executive session of the Board of Selectmen held Thursday afternoon at Town Hall.

O’Donnell has been running the day-to-day ops of the Redding PD since former Chief Douglas Fuchs was suspended amidst an investigation into his actions in regard to the death of Peter Valenti last year.

A swearing-in ceremony for Chief O'Donnell will be at a time and place to be announced.
