Easton's Lisa Vane Executive Director, of the Remodeling Contractors Association/NARI local contractors receive awards
The Remodeling Contractors Association/NARI a non-profit organization for remodelers held their Awards Dinner on December 4th 2018. RCA President Lucas Papageorge owner of LCP General Contractors in Fairfield handed out awards in four categories. Project of the Year Award 2018 went to Domus Constructors, LLC in Norwalk founder and owner Chris Shea from Fairfield. It was impossible for the clients to resist purchasing the property on this private road in Darien. The exterior façade had not been updated since it was built in 1941 and while some interior updates were relatively recent, the quality and styling did not meet their standards. The project included an addition and complete renovation of the kitchen, and much of the first floor. Upgrading HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems were also completed. The Farmhouse chic design lived up to its name and surpassed expectations.
Steve Gidley from Stephen C. Gidley Inc. Fairfield received a Certificate for Runner Up for Project of the Year Award. Steve’s house remodel had impeccable detail and an unbelievable coffered ceiling library. Baybrook Remodeling in West Haven President Ken Carney took home the award for Remodeler of the Year. The Dan Miller Founders Award was given to Jim Whittemore owner of Village Building and Restoration, LLC serving the Farmington Valley Area and past RCA President and longtime board member. This Award was created for Dan Miller past President and Executive Director of RCA who passed away at the age of 95. Dan was the driving force in getting contractors to support one another. He was admired and respected in his diligent efforts in bringing awareness to the trades industry and his good work at RCA. Supplier of the Year was awarded to Ring’s End who has 19 Retail locations throughout Southern CT and Westchester Counties.
