School Briefs: August 12

Many residents from Weston, Redding and Easton shine nationwide.

Ian Dempsey, of Easton, was named to the president’s list for the Spring 2011 semester at Gonzaga University. In order to be named student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.7.

Cecelia Probst, of Redding, was named to the dean’s list at Delaware Valley College.

Two local students were named to the dean’s list at Providence College for the Spring 2011 semester: Catherine O’Connell, of Easton, who is a member of the Class of 2012; and Natalie Odiema, of Weston, who is a member of the Class of 2014. In order to be named, students must have a grade point average of at least 3.55.

Two Westonites were among those named to the dean’s list at Emory College for the Spring 2011 semester: Ian Bolin, son of Kurt and Anne Bolin; and Alison Sitver, daughter of Steven and Meryl Sitver. In order to be named, students must have a grade point average of approximately 3.86.

Three Westonites recently graduated from Emory University: Alison Sitver received a bachelor of arts degree; Ryan Huang received a bachelor of science degree; and Christine Davis received a doctor of law degree.
