School Briefs: August 5

Many residents from Weston, Redding and Easton shine nationwide.

The University of New Hampshire recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester and three local students were among those named: Lauren Mallozzi, of Redding, earned high honors; Daniel Mercede, of Easton, earned highest honors; and Sarah Griffin, of Weston, earned high honors.

Alexandra Kendall, a junior from Weston, was recently named to the high honor roll at the Loomis Chaffee School for the spring term.

Beata Wantke, a Redding resident, recently graduated from Pace University.

Georgia Southern University recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester, and Amanda Macchio, of Redding, was among those named. In order to be named, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Skidmore College recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester, and two local students were among those named: Emily Gorbach, a member of the Class of 2011 who is the daughter of David and Joan Gorbach of Easton, and Charles Bliss, a member of the Class of 2013 who is the son of Steve and Julie Bliss of Weston. In order to be name, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.67.

Isabelle A. Jaffe, an Easonite, was recently named to first honors on Clark University’s dean’s list. In order to be named, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.8.
