
Kevin A. Collins, of Easton, recently won The Human Relations Award from Trinity College. The Human Relations Award is awarded annually to an undergraduate who, during the year, has exhibited outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship. Collins is a member of the Class of 2011, and graduated from Trinity with a degree in American studies.
Julia Gertrud Hurwitz, a Redding resident, was named to the dean’s list at Drew University for the Spring 2011 semester. In order to be named, students must achieve a grade point average equivalent to a B+ or better.
Sara Elizabeth Johnson, of Easton, was named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester at Juniata College. Johnson is the daughter of Neil and Susanne Johnson and is a junior studying mathematics and secondary education. She’s a 2009 graduate of . In order to be named to the dean’s list, students must have a grade point average of 3.6 or better.

Timothy Anderson, of Weston, recently graduated from Bowdoin College. He majored in economics and government and legal studies.
Dylann Katz, a senior at , was recently awarded $5,000 as part of the Hood Good Sport Scholarship Program. The scholarships are given to varsity athletes who demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field, as well as excel in academics and is an involved community member. Katz will attend Cornell University in the fall.

Connecticut College recently held its commencement ceremonies, and two local students were among those who earned degrees. Robert Webbe, of Easton, majored in government, and Alyssa Grabfield, of Weston, was a student-designed interdisciplinary major.
Four local students recently graduated from Marist College. Redding residents Jill Mackey and Frederick Miller both earned master’s degrees, with the former receiving one in mental helath counseling and the latter receiving one in accounting. Westonites Sam Benjamin and Drew Silverstein both earned bachelor degrees in communications.
The University of New Haven recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester, and two local students were among those named: David Ho-Yen, of Redding, and Ilisa Nussbaum, of Weston. In order to be named, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
Katerina L. Craft, of Easton, recently graduated from St. Lawrence University. She graduated from Academy of Our Lady of Mercy in Milford, and received a degree in psychology, minoring in fine arts and educational studies.
