
The University of Connecticut recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester, and a slew of local students were among those named:
- Eastonites Melanie Bishop, Christopher Brozdowski, Leah Christiani, Nicole Deering, Alexandra Eckhardt, Judith Greenspan, Jessica Kamzik, Michael Kot and Jillian Lemma.
- Redding residents Kate Bodurtha, Russell Bodurtha, Rory Geyer, Rachael Glidden, Kasia Grieco, Kayla Kocher, Stephanie Letkowski, Kelly O’Donnell, Seth Rosenberg, Eliza Smith, Patrick Stimola, Caitlin Taylor, Tiffany Touma, Glen Ullman and Christopher Wasko.
- Westonites Paul Bacher, James Gaffney, Oliver Gaffney, Carolyn Judge, Richard Koproski, Kulsum Lalani, Erica Palumbo, Julia Roth, Arthur Steinschneider, Katherine Thomas and Megan Wiethoff.
Emily Sanchez, of Easton, will participate in the CoOPERAtive Program, an opera training program at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J., this July. She is one of 27 singers selected from hundreds from around the world who auditioned to be a CoOPERAtive Fellow.
Cara Elliott, of Easton, recently graduated from Gettysburg College with summa cum laude distinction. She majored in history and received the Gettysburg College Award in History & Earl Kresge Stock Writing Prize for Humanities, and was also on the dean's list for the Spring 2011 semester.

Sacred Heart University recently released its dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester and local students were among those named: Neetha Desai, of Redding, Eastonites Meghan Kelly, Candace Maisel and Amanda Wenger, and Westonite Celeste McGeehan. In order to be named, students must have grade point averages of at least 3.6.
Albert A. Cortina, of Easton, has been named to the dean's list at Western New England for the spring semester of 2011. Cortina is a sophomore majoring in engineering. Students are named to the dean's list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher.

Ashley Tsalapatanis, of Easton, has been named to the president's list at Western New England for the spring semester of 2011. Tsalapatanis is a senior majoring in elementary education. Students are named to the president's list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
