Weston Announces Finalist for Superintendent Position

A local superintendent has been chosen as the finalist for Weston Public School's top job.

WESTON, CT- Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent William McKersie announced he is the finalist for the superintendent position for Weston Public Schools.

"Like Greenwich, the Weston community sets the highest of expectations and provides its schools superb support," he said. "Greenwich always will have a special place in my heart and mind-for all that the town and school system stands for and achieves.”

It was announced April 22 that McKersie would not seek renewal of his contract that is set to expire in June 2017.

“I congratulate Dr. McKersie on being the finalist to lead the Weston Public Schools, and we will work closely with him over the next several months to ensure the pending transition will be a smooth one for the Greenwich Public Schools," said Greenwich Board of Education Chair Laura Erickson.

McKersie's candidacy is subject to a satisfactory site visit, background check, and formal appointment by the Weston Board at its May regular meeting. He is anticipated to start in Weston in early August.
