You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Weston School District.

Gr. 1 and 2 New Student Orientation - 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM: Aug. 18

Grade 3, 4, 5 WIS NEW Family Orientation - 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Weston Intermediate School: Aug. 18

WMS New Student Orientation - 11:00 AM to 2:00 PMWMS: Aug. 18

3rd Grade Meet & Greet - 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, WIS Classrooms: Aug. 21

Meet and Greet-preschool and Kindergarten - 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Aug. 21

Grade 1 Meet the Teacher - 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM: Aug. 21

9th Grade Orientation - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Weston High School for incoming 9th graders/new students: Aug. 2

Grade 2 Meet the Teacher - 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM: Aug. 21

First day of school: Aug. 24

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Professional development day (school closed): Oct. 13
