Weston Volunteer Fire Department Honors Firefighter & EMT Of The Year

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department​ honored its own during its annual awards ceremony.

WESTON, CT — Last week, the Weston Volunteer Fire Department honored its own, during the department's annual awards ceremony.

John Dembishack was named Firefighter of the Year, and Jim McGuire was the recipient of the President and Chiefs Award. John Pokorny was recognized with the 50 Years of Service Award.

Waldo van Riemsdjik was named EMT of the Year, and Adria Belport was the recipient of the Dave Geismar Award. Charlotte Carter was recognized as Student of the Year.

Henry McElligott, Tom Janson, Waldo van Riemsdjik, Sharon Jaffe, Elena Moffly, Mark Norman, and Ryan Blake were honored with Cardiac Arrest Save Unit Citations.
