Woman Who Stole from Redding Business Arraigned for Stealing from Fairfield Dentist: Report

The bookkeeper is serving a prison term from stealing $165,000 from a tree service in Redding

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Facing accusations of stealing from businesses in Fairfield , an incarcerated bookkeeper from Milford pleaded not guilty in Superior Court Thursday to charges of larceny and forgery, reports the Connecticut and Post.

Bernice Dohn, 57, the owner of Premier Accounting and Bookkeeping is already serving time in prison for stealing over $165,000 from a tree service in Redding. Dohn, of Milford, asked for a jury trial at arraignment.

Dohn, of Milford, had been working for Dr. Kenneth Epstein of the Family Dental Group in Fairfield before abruptly quitting in February. She had told the practice that she needed a surgery, but was surrendering herself for a prison term.

Police say she should have been getting a salary of $55,120 per year, but was making $85,609 by her own hand by the time she quit.
