You May See Police From Other Towns Working in Easton, Here's Why

Starting today, officers from nearby communities may be working in each other's towns and cities.

EASTON, CT — Police from six Fairfield County communities will be working across jurisdictional lines in an effort to reduce traffic crashes and improve traffic safety, according to an announcement from the Monroe Police Department.

The police departments of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Trumbull, Easton, Stratford and Monroe have entered into an agreement to form the Southern Fairfield County Traffic Unit. Police say that residents should not be surprised if they see officers from the six departments working in eachother's towns.

"Our agencies are very proud to work in partnership with each other in an effort to enhance the safety of our communities as a whole," read the department's announcement on Facebook.
