1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured in Fall at Westport Construction Site

WESTPORT, CT — One man died, and another was seriously injured, Sunday in a construction site fall on Norwalk Avenue in Westport, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 p.m. when both fell off a third-story roof. Emergency Medical Services personnel found one of the victims already dead when they arrived at the scene, and the second victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The names of both men "are being withheld until proper notification is made to their respective families," according to Westport police.

Additional details were not immediately available.

"The Westport Police Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, and OSHA continue to investigate the incident," Westport police wrote in a statement. "At this time, no foul play is suspected."
