18-Year-Old Arrested After Throwing Underage Party At Westport Home

The suspect threw the party at his mother's home while she was away, according to Westport police.

WESTPORT, CT — An 18-year-old Fairfield resident was arrested on trespassing and breach of peace charges over the weekend, after Westport police said he threw a party at his mother's Westport home while she was away.

Westport police were called to the Drumlin Road home at about 10:30 p.m. on a noise complaint.

"Upon arrival, officers observed a large group of juveniles and young adults leaving the home," police said. "The crowd was unruly and did not initially cooperate with the officers. However, the group was eventually dispersed."

Police spoke to the 18-year-old who threw the party, who authorities said "admitted to throwing a party after learning his mother was out of town."

The teen's mother was contacted, "she advised that her son does not reside in the home and that he has been banned" from coming to the Westport home.

"He purportedly admitted to officers that he knew he was not supposed to be at his mother’s house," police said.

The teen was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree breach of peace, and he was released after posting a $500 bond.

His date in Stamford Superior Court is scheduled for Aug. 3.
