4 Vehicles Stolen In Westport: Police

Additionally, police said 15 vehicle break-ins have been reported in town over the past five days.

WESTPORT, CT — Police said four vehicles have been reported stolen and over a dozen vehicle break-ins have been reported in Westport this week.

In a news release Wednesday, Police Lt. David Wolf said four vehicles have been reported stolen in town since Saturday. In all four cases, the vehicles were unlocked with the keys inside, Wolf said.

Additionally, 15 vehicle break-ins have been reported in Westport over the past five days, Wolf said. These break-ins occurred overnight, resulted in thefts and were the result of vehicles having been left unlocked.

"The Westport Police Department reminds you to lock your car and bring your keys inside," Wolf said in a news release. "Further, it is important to remember to take valuables out of your car for the night, such as cash, purses, wallets and electronics. It is also good practice to keep outside lights on and motion lights activated."

Residents are also asked to report any vehicle break-ins or suspicious neighborhood activity to police.
