Detectives linked the suspects through follow-up work and coordination with other agencies, then took them into custody upon their release from New Haven Correctional Center; both remain held on $150,000 bond.
2. Business prepares for storm (westportjournal.com) — Downtown Westport retailers on Main Street spent Saturday bracing for heavy rain and high tides, stacking sandbags and setting up barriers at their doors. Their preparations highlight concerns about potential flooding and give shoppers a sense of what to expect if the storm intensifies over the weekend.
3. Intrepid RTMer captures storm photos (westportjournal.com) — Storm conditions pushed tides high along Westport's beach area Saturday morning, and RTM member Jimmy Izzo toured the shoreline to document what he saw. His photos and on-the-ground perspective give residents a timely look at how the approaching weather is affecting local waterfront spots they use every day.
4. Local Event: "Con-spiring for Justice" - UU Westport and Rev. Terri Dennehy (patch.com) — UU Westport is inviting residents to Sunday's 10 a.m. service, "Con-spiring for Justice," led by Rev. Terri Dennehy in the newly renovated Victor Lundy sanctuary. With music, children's programming, nursery care, and a welcoming, nonjudgmental atmosphere, the congregation encourages Westport neighbors seeking community and reflection to attend in person or via livestream.
5. Westport Teens, Senior Citizens Leave Legacy (06880danwoog.com) — Westport teen Stella DiGeronimo and classmates from Staples High teamed up with the Westport Center for Senior Activities to record and share local seniors' life stories through the Legacy Project. Their interviews became a book, "The Art of Flying Anyway," preserving personal histories while building friendships across generations and giving students a deeper perspective on how lives unfold beyond neat, linear plans.
