Once again this year the event was organized by Sensei Sarah Malhotra with the support of Manny Esmeraldo, owner of The Dojo in Stamford and Westport. Sarah, a long time volunteer and sexual abuse prevention educator said “The Center is such a great organization that offers so many resources and support to Lower Fairfield County. I am so happy to be able to hold this event at The Dojo Westport. As a Karate teacher, I fully support The Center's mission to help individuals in crisis, spread awareness, and educate all on sexual violence. "

The Joyride Studio event was organized by Cora Delibertis, a leading voice and activist on sexual violence prevention throughout the community. For Cora, The Center holds a special meaning: “Three years ago I stepped into The Center not knowing my life was about to be saved. They not only gave me the resources to heal from childhood sexual assault but they helped me find my voice. Now, as a survivor, advocate and volunteer for The Center I have made it my mission to share my story and bring awareness to this issue. Victims of sexual assault need to know they are not alone and places like The Center are there to help. Please join Dana Klion and I for this amazing, high energy event to bring awareness and raise money."

To mark the end of SAAM, join The Center on Friday, April 29th, for the Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness Gala, “The Year of the Survivor”, from 7-11pm at The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s, Darien, tickets $150pp, call The Center to register or for more information.
