Bank Robber Hits Westport Bank: Police

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon.

WESTPORT, CT — A TD Bank in Westport was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash Sunday afternoon by a man who gave a teller a note implying that he was armed, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the bank, located at 1111 Post Road East, just before 1 p.m., first by an emergency alarm and then from a call from the bank that it had just been robbed.

The suspect did not display a weapon, and no injuries were reported.

"The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6’1” tall with a heavy build and scruffy beard, wearing a Chicago Bulls baseball cap," wrote Westport Police Sgt. Richard Bagley in a statement.

Westport police detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect, who is pictured above.

"Anyone who recognizes the suspect. or has information [about the robbery], is urged to call the Westport Detective Bureau at (203) 341-6080."
