What are some of the trends you've been noticing in estate planning? How are these trends impacting clients?

 

One trend effecting estate planners and their clients today is the increasing political mantra of redistributing wealth by taxing the wealthy while simultaneously lowering the demarcation of who the wealthy are.   Besides understanding how future income taxes may effective our clients, estate planners must thoroughly understand gift, estate, generation-skipping taxes and how their present high exemption levels allow clients to shelter wealth that they may soon be unable to do.
