Bridgeport Man, 61, Stole Cash from Westport Tennis, Rowing Clubs: Police

The suspect allegedly was caught on surveillance video on separate occasions.

WESTPORT, CT - A 61-year-old Bridgeport man is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in cash from patrons at the Westport Tennis Club and the Saugatuck Rowing Club, according to police.

Ronald Garafalo was arrested on May 23 - on separate warrants - in connection with the thefts. He was arrested at Norwalk Superior Court while answering unrelated charges.

Police said Garafalo allegedly stole $200 from a wallet at the tennis club in October 2015, and $240 from a purse at the rowing club in April of this year. In both instances, he was caught on surveillance video either allegedly committing the crime or just afterward, according to police.
