Compo Road North in Westport Reopened This Afternoon

WESTPORT, CT — Compo Road North, between Main Street and Cross Highway, will reopen this afternoon, Sept. 20, according to an email to Patch today from Shalal Hussein, the manager of the construction project for the state Department of Transportation.

The section of road has been closed since Aug. 22 for the installation of a new underground culvert. Traffic through the area has been impacted, for which the state thanks residents for their patience.

"We do hope to reopen the road today, the rain yesterday delayed our ability to place the roadway markings," wrote Hussein. "We will do our best to ensure that it will be open by this afternoon, if not sooner. Thank you for your patience and cooperation."

Hussein did not give an exact time of the reopening, but Westport Now reports that it will be by 3 p.m.
