Connecticut Ballet

Thurs, July 14, 8pm | FREE | Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts | A splash of the fine arts for those with a cultured taste

Connecticut Ballet is the state's professional ballet company, performing a diverse repertoire of new works, masterworks, and great story ballets. The company's artistic mission is to present the highest quality professional classical and contemporary ballet performances.

Connecticut Ballet was founded in 1981 by choreographers Brett Raphael and Luk de Layress. Its official debut took place (under the company's former title, Ballet Today) at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Shortly thereafter, the company made its Connecticut debut at the Stamford Center for the Arts, where it became a resident performing company in 1986.

Connecticut's professional ballet company has performed throughout New England in addition to special appearances at the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival, New York's Riverside Dance Festival, Cape Cod Performing Arts Festival, Harbourfront Festival in Toronto, Grand Central Station in New York City, Goat Island Dance Festival in Newport, Rhode Island, and many other venues.

Note: Lawn & Concession open to the public one hour before show-time. Facility is closed to public during load-in and sound-check. Picnics are welcome. The Levitt Pavilion and its perimeter is a non-smoking area. Pets are not allowed.

In case of inclement weather, check levittpavilion.com or call our concert hotline (203-221-2153) after 4.30PM on the day of the show for a location status update. While we have a nearby rain location for free shows, we always do our best to stay outside shower or shine!
