You may be wondering where the “INN”* place to be Sunday, September 30th might be....Well! The Roger Sherman Inn will be welcoming Autumn with “Arias Alfresco” and sharing a totally NEW dining experience with family and friends on the lawn (Yes, on the lawn!!!!) or the porch.
Joseph and Nes Jaffre have announced that the Roger Sherman Inn will be hosting an evening full of arias, duets, trios, and quartets from the world of opera, operetta and music theater...a full concert in an irresistible setting! The outdoor concert will feature artists such as Sarah Bleasdale, a native of North Stamford, whose talents have taken her around the world in productions including the German company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera to a bit closer to home at our own Westport Playhouse as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus. As Nes Jaffre stated, “We are privileged to have the talented (and stunningly gorgeous!!!!) Mr. Richard Weidlich who has performed in such diverse operas and musical theater as La Traviata...La Boheme....Funny Girl...Showboat...the list goes on...”
According to Monroe Alechman, co-coordinator of Arias Alfresco,” Whether you’re an Operaholic or not, this is an evening under the stars you won’t want to miss.” Guests will be treated to selections that span the spectrum. From “Carmen to Cosi to Carousel!” From “The Marriage of Figaro to the Merry Widow to The Mikado!!!!” And Much More!

The Inn will be charging a $30 “cover charge” which includes a half bottle of wine and place on the lawn. Guests will be invited to bring blankets and picnic baskets to enjoy the concert. (Baskets are also available for sale....$40 “snack pack” take home tote will include cheeses, pate, Baguette, and condiments.....$60 “dinner pack” Cold chicken, side salads, baguette, cheese, cookies!) Baskets purchased from the Inn must be reserved in advance.
