
"Paddle to the Pass" with the (WHS) at 1:30pm Saturday, May 15, departing from the I-95 boat launch off S. Compo Rd. The 2-1/2 hour tour is co-sponsored by The Nature Conservancy.
Kayakers/canoers will venture to the first fishway on the Saugatuck River, just upstream from King's Hwy. N. in Westport, to learn about the river, its rich history and The Nature Conservancy, with guide Sally Harold, project director of the Conservancy's Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to The Nature Conservancy and also used to support WHS educational programs.
The cost for the tour is $20 per person. Kayaks are available for rental at Longshore for $38 (singles) and $48 (doubles). Pick up and reserve kayaks from Stephanie at 203-226-4646. If renting, meet at Longshore at 1pm.
