Summer Sundays at Mahackeno

The Family Y’s new Summer Sundays are fun days for families to spend quality time together, swim, play outdoor games and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mahackeno Outdoor Center. Summer Sundays take place from 11 am to 4 pm and are scheduled for July 10, 17, 24 and 31. The activities are free for Y members and only $20 per family for non-members.

Enjoy our large outdoor swimming pool, ball courts and playing fields, as well as our archery range, access to 12-acre Lees Pond and new 20-ft. rock-climbing wall. There will be games, competitions, and many other exciting activities, including kayaking, canoeing, a fitness expo, basketball shooting contest (three point and free throw shooting) and special games for young children. The swimming pool is open from 11 to 4; special activities and casual (cookout) food service take place from 11 to 1:30 pm. Children and adults of all ages are welcome, though we ask that kids under the age of 14 be accompanied by an adult.

The rustic setting for the Family Y’s popular Camp Mahackeno during the week, these 32 acres of open space and recreational areas are situated along the banks of the Saugatuck River, just off Exit 41 of the Merritt Parkway. Mahackeno Outdoor Center is at 14 Sunny Lane, Westport, CT. You’ll find it by turning off Route 33 near the Red Barn restaurant; proceed toward the northbound on-ramp of the Merritt, staying in the right lane.
