First Folk Sunday and the Two Suzanne's
After 20 years, Sheridan and Propp perform together at the first First Sunday Folk
Westport, CT – Suzanne Sheridan and Suzanne Sherman Propp – two gifted Westport musicians will finally be sharing the stage for the first time. There are lots of firsts happening on Sunday May 7. First Folk Sunday is the new folk series being presented at The Post at the VFW in Westport on the first Sunday of each month. As Sherman Propp put it, “Throughout the past twenty years, people have told me that they're looking forward to hearing me perform somewhere after they see a poster announcing an upcoming gig, and I say: "Oh, that isn't me, that's Suzanne SHERIDAN!" Well, this time, it IS me...as a guest of Suzanne Sheridan's FIRST FOLK SUNDAY on May 7th.”
Suzanne Sherman Propp grew up in Westport with her 3 siblings in a close-knit family. She is a music teacher in the Westport school system and the instigator of the very popular SingDaily.com website, along with her mandolin-playing husband, Peter Propp. In addition to her singer-songwriter status, she plays guitar, violin, piano, recorder, ukulele, and a bit of harmonica. She has released two CDs – “Am I Ready” and “Play” – both of which are available on Amazon.com.
Joining the two Suzanne’s at First Folk Sunday is keyboardist Bob Cooper. Cooper and Sheridan have played together for over a decade and are best known for their Joni Mitchell/Leonard Cohen tribute concerts. Together they played this unforgettable concert at the Levitt Pavilion in 2021. Together, they also do a Bob Dylan retrospective.
